Fixated On...the radio?

Big news people!! Fixated On, are spreading our wings a little bit.  We were not content with ruling the podcast roost, so we have joined forces with LeedsIndieRadio to broadcast our show.
The new format of the show will not be a million miles away from how it has been.  It will still feature Steve Shooter with a different guest host every week, only this time there will be the best of unsigned bands in the Yorkshire area playing too.
Guests currently scheduled for the show include Simon D. Heaven, Laura Reynolds, Julia Mann and the boys from Zomblogalypse, Miles & Tony.  There will be many other guests joining me over the coming weeks too.

Tune in every Wednesday at 7pm to listen to the show...

You can of course contact us via Twitter on @fixatedon or by Facebook

Fixated On...Tim Wheeler

I met with Tim Wheeler, lead singer of rock band Ash.  Unfortunately the laptop I use to record the show on, decided it was going to shut down 2 mins before the end of the interview, rendering the audio file unsaved and unrecoverable.  For the record, Tim was a lovely man, very gracious and chatty, even when I asked him stupid questions! We covered all sorts of subjects, from taking time off school to go on Top Of The Pops to his opinion of Annie Lennox' version of Shining Light.  Hopefully next time they are in town I can meet up and re-record our chat, but for now, here is photographic proof that I didn't imagine it!
To make up for the only bit of the recording I have left being me and Tim saying goodbye, I put a live version of Arcadia (my favourite recent Ash song) on the end of the episode!

Fixated On...Donate For Great

One of the most random episodes of the show so far.  I met up with Gemma Holloway of Gemjar Promotions at a photoshoot in York's Museum Gardens to promote her charity event 'Donate For Great'.  I met with members of various bands including Believe In F.A.T.E, Shade The Press and Prowl.  I also met with members of Can't Sing, Can't Dance, Don't Care, and loads of others.
You can donate via the website or attend the events!

Fixated On...Tracy Tidswell

In which Steve is joined by the Coconut Woman, Tracy Tidswell.  Although this is the 5th episode released it was actually the 1st one recorded, and one of the most fun.  I only knew Tracy from Twitter and so meeting was a little odd but I greatly enjoyed having her as a guest to help me shape the show, in it's infancy!

We talked about Tracy's flourishing writing career as a writer of rudery! We also covered all kinds of other nonsense, including how much I want to punch Bono in the face...

You can find Tracy on Twitter @tracytid

Fixated On...Miles Watts

In episode 4 of the show, Steve is joined by York film-maker Miles Watts for a chat.  Miles is another multi-hyphenate, writer, director, actor type.  He has made a couple of feature films based almost entirely in and around York, as well as being at the forefront of the Web-series movement, with Zomblogalypse.

You can find Miles on twitter @MilesToneFilms or @zomblogalypse

Fixated On...Jamie McKeller

So, episode 3 of the show rolls around.  I have a couple of firsts this time, my first episode recorded in York and my first outside broadcast.  My guest is a multi-hyphenate, actor, sketch comedy performer, writer, former Hollyoak-er and all round nice chap! Jamie McKeller is the star and creative force behind a webseries called 'I Am Tim'. He is also one half of sketch duo The Juppa Bros.

Our chat covers an awful lot of ground, from the York film making scene, to awkward relationship moments, to one legged pigeons!
Why not go follow Jamie on twitter @redshirtjamie or follow the link and watch his show.  But first, go listen to the episode with him and I talking?  As always, search FixatedOn on itunes or head over to FixatedOn...
